Hawaii Head Coach Drops F-Bomb

Hawaii head football coach Greg McMackin dropped the f-bomb during a WAC news conference yesterday. He was referring to his team’s embarrassing loss to Notre Dame last December.

Here is his exact quote.

“I know most of the coaches in the country are rooting for us to beat Notre Dame,” McMackin said. “Charlie gives this talk, ‘We do something special at Notre Dame,’ and (the players) get up and they do this little cheer … this little faggot dance.”

He then asked reporters not to write about the fact that he used the word "faggot".

Obviously the reporters didnt listen and reported on it right away. He later cam back to offer up some lame ass apology. Then after the University of Hawaii heard about it they made him apolopgize yet again. Neither time seemed very sincere and he pretty much came off as a douche bag.

Tour de France Andy Schleck

There has been a lot in the news lately about the Tour de France and the fighting between the winner Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong, but what caught my attention the other day was the second place winner Andy Schleck of Luxembourg.

Ricky Berens Shows Off His Butt

American swimmer Ricky Berens is a Beijing gold medalist and now he's also an internet sensation since he revealed his very hot butt at the the swimming world championships in Rome this weekend.

Berens was swimming the 4x100 relay but shortly before stepping onto the starting block Berens stretched and tore his suit.

The University of Texas swimmer said, "I kind of freaked out for just a second,I felt like [the split] was almost down to my knees. I felt like I was putting on a pretty good show."

Apparently Beren's sexy butt must be pretty hydrodynamic as the rip did not slow him down much because he, along with the rest of his American relay team, took the gold medal in the event.

Fatigue Busters

Continuous mental or physical effort, long work periods and rotating shift schedules all can induce fatigue. Omissions, errors, accidents and extensive use of sick and disability time may be the result. Consider the following low-cost, no-cost strategies to reduce fatigue, promote alertness and increase efficiency and productivity.

Drink water - Water promotes oxygen flow to the brain and thereby promotes alertness. Provide water coolers or personal drinking bottles and encourage consumption every hour.

Breathe - When we are fatigued, our breathing becomes shallow. Encourage employees to take several deep, diaphragm breathes every 10 minutes through the time of greatest fatigue.  

Stretch - Big muscle movements and stretches get blood flowing and that all-important oxygen moving to the brain. Brisk walking on the spot for even one or two minutes is ideal, but there are many sitting and standing movements which are equally effective.

Turn on the Light - Light signals our bodies to be awake and alert, but it must be high-intensity light. Modern technology has provided us with portable lighting systems which mimic this light and which can be installed in various workstations to promote alertness.

Nap - If you can overcome the "we pay you to work and not sleep" attitude, you will find that a controlled napping policy will result in measurable improvements in alertness.

Sniff - Both peppermint and lemon scents are known to promote alertness. There are several ways that the scents/oils may be used by individuals or you may want to consider a planned infusion program at a workstation.

Drink Tea - As simple as it may sound, having a cup of hot tea is a great pick-me-up. Choose one of the many non-caffeine varieties and enjoy!
